What's New In Spectrum 2023 R2

Have you seen the latest and greatest in Spectrum? Spectrum 2023 R2 is here! 

With Spectrum's second release of 2023, we are excited to introduce:

• Faster Access to Trimble Work Center
  If your Spectrum license is part of a Trimble Construction One contract, accessing the Trimble Work Center is now easier than ever. Now, you can launch Trimble Work Center when logging into Spectrum through single sign-on! This access is not enabled by default, but system administrators can turn on this option for users by selecting the Enable Trimble Work Center checkbox in the System Installation screen.
• Better Control of Subcontract Records
  Get more peace of mind with improved control of subcontract records. Spectrum now prevents accidental deletion of subcontracts with billed amounts. When you attempt to delete a subcontract, Spectrum checks whether it has any billed amounts. If any exist, Spectrum prevents the subcontract from being deleted, preventing you from deleting something you may still need. 
• Improve Your Tool and Asset Management Using Hilti ON!Track
  Now, Spectrum cloud customers on Trimble Construction One are able to better manage equipment and tools and cut costs using the Hilti ON!Track integration with Spectrum. This integration unites Hilti's asset tracking technology with Spectrum's robust accounting capabilities, helping your company keep track of your assets and accurately bill tool usage to jobs. Once you properly configure the integration and enter tool data in Spectrum, Hilti ON!Track automatically tracks and records all asset movements. This data then flows back into Spectrum, where you can review requisitions and create transactions to charge tool usage to jobs. Training is available now in Viewpoint Academy!

NEW! License Tracking Service

One of the things we've learned from you is that you need better visibility into your licenses, across Trimble products.

We’re hoping this is a step in the right direction! With the new License Tracking Service, you now have increased visibility, allowing you to improve license management. With a clear view of your Trimble Viewpoint license counts, you can ensure everyone has access to what is needed.

View assigned and contracted license counts for all of your Trimble Construction One products all in one place. Admins - go to the Enterprise Info tab in team.viewpoint.com to see this new feature in action. And you can follow along with this video.

The New I-9 Has Arrived in Viewpoint HR Management

As you already know, the U.S. Government recently released a new I-9 form used for onboarding new employees. All employers must use it starting November 1, 2023.

If you use the Viewpoint HR Management for Spectrum, you will find the new I-9 form is included in the October 2023 release. You can also visit the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website for details about changes made to the form.

  • Configure the necessary default settings in Spectrum Equipment Control and Equipment Tracking in order to charge tool usage properly and allow employees access to the tools and equipment they are tracking with Hilti ON!Track.
  • Use the Hilti ON!Track tracking tags and how to utilize the Hilti ON!Track website to assign tools.
  • Validate Hilti requisitions and track revenue on specific pieces of equipment and tools through Spectrum.

  The ProjectSight - AppXchange - Spectrum integration video demonstrates some of the key features of the software integration, focusing on how information will flow between the two platforms and how items are typically named.

New Spectrum Service Tech Fillable PDFs

This exciting new feature lets Spectrum Service Tech customers upload fillable PDFs to certain document “Cabinets and Drawers” in Spectrum's “Document Imaging” module. From there, they can be accessed either company-wide or per site. Out in the field, your techs can easily find them in the new “Forms” tile, where they can fill them out, and then save them. The forms are then saved to the work order in the “Docs & Images” tile.

A fillable form is a great way to implement repeatable processes, such as inspection checklists or environmental forms. And, once the form is attached to a work order, it shows that the technician did a professional job and considered all angles when inspecting or repairing equipment.
